Wine tasting

Getting to know wine is all about tasting wine and talking about wine with other people. In Hotel Pinot, we’ve arranged two interesting lectures for you (both include a wine tasting): “The Wines of the Czech Republic” and “International Grape Varieties in Czech Conditions)”. Each lecture lasts for approximately 60 minutes. The lecture includes a wine tasting and it is always held by a sommelier of Hotel Pinot. The lecture can be in Czech, English, German or French. The lecture with a wine tasting must by ordered two days in advance and it can start whenever you wish. All lectures and wine tasting take place in the Lustermannský Wine Cellar.

The wine tasting includes bread, cheese and water.

The Wines of the Czech Republic

This lecture and wine tasting focuses on the basic facts and information about winemaking in the Czech Republic. You’ll get to know the Czech system of wine classification and taste typical Czech grape varieties. The wine tasting includes 8 samples of white, rosé and red wines. 

 

International Grape Varieties in Czech Conditions

This lecture and wine tasting focuses on the well-known global grape varieties and their specific results within the terroirs of Czech Republic. The tasting includes ten samples of varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Merlot or Cabernet Sauvignon. You will always get two samples of each variety from two different places, which will make it easier for you to tell the difference.
