VINO HORT

This winery is run by one man – a cellar magician and a sensitive winemaker – Jiří Hort. VINO HORT is one of a few wineries in the Czech Republic, which openly (or even proudly) claims not to own a single hectare of vineyard.

Jiří Hort is an absolute winemaker. He is the one who decides every operation in the cellar and gives to this process his entire energy. And he knows that having to take care of a vineyard would take away his time. Therefore he created perfect relationship with several vintners and buys their grapes. However, he checks the vineyards many times during the year and pushes hard for the best quality of grapes. In the cellar he has no match. His specialty is rosé and he is therefore called The Pink King.

Note: He is the first winemaker in Czech Republic to make wine out of Pinot Meunier grape. Together with an Alsatian winemaker he created a special Crémant. Try this sparkling wine plus many more form our selection.
