SONBERK
This is a unique winery owning one single vineyard, which is mentioned as early as in 13^^th^^ century. Its name gave name to the entire winery and the production house stands right in the middle. The building itself is a masterpiece of a famous Czech architect Josef Pleskot and it deserves same attention as the wine from this exquisite Pálava region. The talented SONBERK´s oenologist Oldřich Drápal made years ago as a first man in the country so called “Straw wine” – a special wine made of grapes dried on straw mats. Such wine may be the highlight of your evening but before that you should try some of SONBERK´s dry wines fermented with their own vineyard selected yeasts, called “terroir yeast of Sonberk”. The wines are divided into two categories – Stříbrný Sonberk (Silver Sonberk) are wines for immediate enjoyment and everyday drinking, while Zlatý Sonberk (Golden Sonberk) has somewhat of a Grand Cru status. These wines have long ageing potential and are ideal for gastronomy.
