DOBRÁ VINICE
Petr Nejedlík, the winemaker, technologist and a co-owner of this winery is a very interesting person indeed. His biggest inspiration is Burgundy but also Aleš Kristančič (now we probably got wine-connoisseurs´ attention…). All wines are 100% natural and part of the vinification is usually a long-time maturation in oak barrels. These are rich and deep meditative wines, clearly reflecting the character of the vineyard and the personality of the winemaker.
All wines come from 12 hectares of the winery´s own vineyards plus from 7 hectares of vineyards of long-time partners. There are no chemical substances used during the winemaking process, only horse and cow manure are used as fertilizers. All work in the vineyard is done by hand. The yields are limited to less than 40 hectolitres per hectare.
The 12 hectare vineyard named Pod lesem in the village of Popice has very interesting subsoil – unlike most vineyards in Moravia here is a Palaeozoic bottom layer which geologically belongs to Českomoravská vrchovina. Main components of the sub-soil are sand, flint and rocks (granite and gneiss). The wines from this vineyard are very intensive and very mineral.
